Photos: Man in Gray, Gold Streets, She Keeps Bees

Just wanted to say that there needs to be a special thank you that goes out to the guys from StereoactiveNYC and the bands. Oh, and the folks at Union Hall, too. The show came off without more than a few technical glitches (all per usual basement venue operating procedures) and all of the bands were intense.
She Keeps Bees blew the culture of me away. Like whoa. Just think Joan Baez birthing Kathleen Hanna with no epidural and you're close. Gold Streets had a number of issues throughout the set, but you could tell that they were just working out the kinks of the tour they were just setting out on. They sound a bit like Gish-era Pumpkins mixed with The Anniversary-styled boy-girl vocals. And Man in Gray, well, Man in Gray fucking destroy. Enough said. They brought the harDCore out in everyone in the crowd, busting eardrums and speakers along the way. Frontwoman Tina DaCosta was so impressive as she battered away that we think we saw the walls sweat. For reals.
Godspeed!
