News: Johnny Marr works with The Cribs on new material!

Jan 24, 08

Now isn't this interesting?  Marr cheats on Modest Mouse with The Cribs?  Nice.  The recent NME cover boys (first time!) and uber-busy-touring punks will more than likely be using this material for an upcoming EP.  No guarantees, but promising nonetheless.  It would be the band's first new material since unleashing their third LP, Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever, last year.

Speaking to NME.COM, bassist Gary Jarman revealed that the fruits of the sessions may be recorded properly then released as an EP, or may contribute to a full album in collaboration with Marr.

Jarman, who lives in Portland, USA explained that he struck up a friendship with Marr (who was living there during his collaboration with Modest Mouse) after meeting him at a barbecue, then began discussing a collaboration.
