Tours: The Slits (what's left of 'em anyways) do the US
Jan 24, 08
Punk/dub pioneers The Slits are back bitches. And they're taking aim at the continental US as we speak. Ari, Tessa and the rest of the gang are coming back around to the amber waves of grain here in the states for a quick jaunt this Spring, including dates at SXSW and quite possibly the coolest venue the girls could've ever thought to play, The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, PA.
This after lead Ari Up's only solo effort, Dread More Dan Dead, the sort-of-well-received release of the EP Revenge of the Killer Slits and a tour of Japan last year.
And while none of the work this band could do in the future will ever touch the undeniably resonant, almost too-inspiring 1979 LP, Cut, we're kind of looking forward to seeing this band play live again. They were a little less than impressive when we caught them at the Knitting Factory, but we still have our hopes.
