Emerging: Oh! Custer
Mar 17, 08

We've come to a breakthrough here at the culture of me as of right this minute. Listening to "Post", by Sweden's Oh! Custer, brought this on. Here goes: the word "jangle" should be used as much as possible. Jangle, jangle, jangle. There. Phew.
We mean, another Swedish band making unbearably beautiful, almost too-well-thought-out music that's drowned in reverb? You don't say. Is it really any wonder how in love we at the culture of me would be with this? Nope. Didn't think so.
Hailing from the same town as The Radio Dept. and sounding shoegazey enough to have garnered a spot at the upcoming 2008 NYC Popfest!, Josef and Esbjorn (the two compatriots who make up this band) will soon be making their way into the hearts and minds of American listeners, thanks in large part to Nebraska CD-R label, Series Two.
If you find yourselves NOT dancing around your room, singing along to the choruses in front of your record player (by the way, you should be doing this with most of the music coming from Sweden these days) you should totally be trying to figure out why that is. Oh! Custer pen instantly catchy and ridiculously smart pop songs. You're missing out.
If Oh! Custer ever come out to NYC and need a show (email us), we'd love to book them with the likes of Pants Yell! or The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart. That would be too sweet for words.
