If all you have as a primer of Old Money, a hip hop crew from Gotham, is a single quote, than let it be this one. In a recent interview with Impose magazine, one of the group's MCs, Cambridge, when asked about their sound, said, "I would say Sallie Mae had a large part to play in all this. You’d be surprised how creative you get when you can either sell a kidney or make some songs to pay back your loans. I guess from extreme poverty comes great works of art."
In a civilization in which popular music is defined by how "real" the artist is, we at the culture of me are dropping to our knees and hailing Old Money as just that. You seriously cannot be more "real" than straight talking about making it/breaking it on behalf of collectors. We mean, come on you guys, Sallie Mae? That shit is bonkers.
