Emerging: The Naked Hearts

It seems that as far as NYC blogs go, we're way way late to jumping on the "like" train for this band. But that's all well and fine as The Naked Hearts are a new band (they have a four-track demo, no label and are trying to get to work on their full length) who sound enough like the post-post-punk New York sound where we can instantly fall in love with them.
Mixing syrupy vocals and wavering instrumentation throughout the four songs we here have heard, The Naked Hearts create a world wrought with wonder and melancholy. But not despair. These kids aren't about despair. Recorded by two out of three of the bandmembers (drummer Jim was too recent an addition to get on these tracks), we're super into the lo-fi dreamy world that The Naked Hearts stew up. Someone sign them please, and if you are presented a chance to see them live, don't even think to hesitate. The empty spaces in the stop/start "Like I Do" are enough to keep us wanting more.
