Emerging: These Modern Socks

Aside from having one of the more terrible names in all of music (seriously, something needs to be said about it, so let us do that), the five gents in These Modern Socks have a knack for putting intense layers of pop, rock and electro all together to create a sometimes claustrophobic, sometimes hugely hook-filled set of near-masterpieces.  Their songs are wavy, frenetic bits of smart chords, smarts synths and even smarter lyrics.  Plus, they do a cover of Tears for Fears' classic "Head Over Heels" that's so good, we can't even get started on it.  The guys have put out a self-titled record and a disc called Picking A Lock At The Speed Of Light, both of which should be purchased immediately.
