mp-FREE: Ima Robot - "Jesus Candles"

Jul 23, 08

The dudes in Ima Robot, the mid-2000s dance rock goons, are a weird weird bunch. They've been in and out of the studio since 2006's Monument to the Masses, added a new member, talked a lot about the wonders of Mexico and had various stages of facial hair.  Now that they finally are coming back with a new record (this year?), we bring you evidentiary support in song format of just how fucking strange the five-piece can be.

"Jesus Candles", according to the band is "representing the polarities of good and evil... and to engage with them was to engage in the NOTION of good and evil...and suddenly the GAME of it...to choose SIDES, etc.. and this song was within that time that I was playing with the powers of the darker side in things, the clunky, heavy power of purpose and battle."  Whatever the hell that really means.
