Ok, ok, ok. If any of you bastards are even bothering to cry "Judas" at us for posting anything about the guys in Deftones, shut up. Our years in high school in the mid-to-late nineties could well be classified by some as "misspent" due to our penchant for third-wave ska, pre-nu metal metal and the entire catalog of Dischord Records, but to us, that just isn't the case. And we're certainly not even close to apologies about our previous listening behaviors in regard to Deftones. We can't tell you how many times we spun Adrenaline or Around The Fur (not to mention how many conversations were spurned about the cover art for the latter [admit it, you remember it]). Also, just FYI, those kids at Pitchfork even gave Around The Fur close to an 8.0.
Anyways, they played a show at Spaceland a couple of days ago and they performed a totally new song from their upcoming record, Eros. The track is called "Melanie", and, as you can gather from the title of this post, we have the song, and sure it's raw and low-quality, but leave it be. It was recorded live. It's trademark Deftones, clanging guitars and pulverizing drums, Chino's whisper-scream histrionics and we're super happy with it.

Godspeed!
