News: The Dears bring Missiles, more members + tour dates

We've always had a soft spot in our black hearts for the seemingly uncanny songwriting of Murray Lightburn and the group he is principal of, The Dears.  And we cannot simply tell you how good we feel that we're finally able to tell you guys that The Dears have a new record, called Missiles, set for release on October 21.  The Dears also have more members (filling out even more of the sonics of the previous iterations).  Says Lightburn of the new record, "We want to bring you this record whole and still warm. It's beautiful; that is the only way to describe it. A blues album, essentially. It's also long and kind of paced for love making, because that really makes everything better."

The new and improved, seven-piece line-up for The Dears is now:

Guitar, Vocals, Keyboards - Jason Kent
Bass Guitar, Keyboards - Lisa Smith
Drums, Keyboards - Yann Geoffroy
Piano, Keyboards, Vocals - Natalia Yanchak
Vocals, Guitar, Keyboards - Murray Lightburn
Keyboards, Vocals - Laura Wills
Guitar - Christopher McCarron

The newly constructed band will be going out to support Missiles next month for US tour.  They'll share much of it with Secret Machines.

Dates:

Oct 21 Boston, MA Great Scott
Oct 22 Hoboken, NJ Maxwell's
Oct 23 New York, NY Hiro Ballroom
Oct 24 Chicago, IL Metro
Oct 25 Madison, WI Majestic
