Totally meta and hilarious, Shad's video for "The Old Prince Still Lives At Home" is probably our favorite thing ever when it comes to send-up's of our youth. We know, the new "90210" series is close, but not quite (Shannen Doherty is still alive, who knew?). The song is old-as-hell (in blog terms) but we missed it last year, so we're taking it to you now.
Shad (born Shadrach Kabango) has officially revitalized our belief in there being such a thing as Canadian hip hop with his most recent record, The Old Prince. He also totally knows it, proven with a line delivered like "I'm the biggest thing out of Canada til Quebec separate". Ha! We love it. It's smooth, old school Tribe-like vibes and rhymes, with knife-sharp wit and endless-breathed flow.
