We love Kanye's new record, 808s & Heartbreak. We know, we've never ever been fans of his, being that he's the sort of egomaniacal artist that only comes around once in a generation (the last being Axl Rose, who has the unfortunate luck of having a not-good-enough-to-be-a-comeback comeback record). But the new record, coupled with the help of Auto-Tune, is amazing to us. There's a lack of chest-puffing and an intense amount of lament and fear and an almost certain sense of sorrow.
There's been a bunch of remixes to come out of the new record from Mr. West, and we've liked a bunch, lambasted a few, but this one from Max Justus (above) is just--in a word--perfect. It's glitchy where it should be, the beats fade at the right moments and the flourishes are tremendous. And the fact that Justus usually composes gorgeous instrumental-only electronica is a sure help in this remix.
