Emerging: Rikers

Nov 21, 08

Toronto-based indie pop band Rikers (no affiliation to the island in Manhattan, and thankfully so) make the kind of breezy, near-shoegaze pop music that send sensations up your spine as you listen and make your smile muscles uncontrollably do their thing.  It's shimmering and bathed in effects thanks in no small part to the mixing duties of Kevin McMahon (The Walkmen, French Kicks) and production by Shawn Bradley (Mellowdrone).  They don't have much of a following on the social networks right now, but we have a good feeling that's all going to change.  Shortly.
