Live: The Homosexuals to headline Serious Business party at Webster Hall next week
Dec 12, 08

Somewhere in the timeline of great post-punk art-school angsty bands in the UK like Gang Of Four and Magazine, a group like The Homosexuals remains an unwieldy footnote. For some reason (many of them, maybe) this group of rag-tag gents never fully caught on, which is a shame because within the atmosphere of music the band created, true genius exists. Sure, they were passed over when they were in their prime, surrounded by like-minded miscreants (Clash, The Damned, Wire, etc.) who were just as brainy as they were dangerous, but that doesn't have to stay true.
Now, thirty years later, the band has come back alive, played some shows (albeit with a handful of line-up changes) and will be cutting into their own history for a few rewrites. The Homosexuals will headline a Christmas party next week thrown by their label, Serious Business and joining them for the "revue-themed" show will be Benji Cossa, Secret Dakota Ring, The Unsacred Hearts, Higgins, Rocketship Park and more. Oh yeah, and did we forget to mention the whole thing is free? Well, now that's there. The show is next Saturday, in the Studio at Webster Hall.
