Maybe it's something in the waters of Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, but this acoustic take by Isla and Jared aka Purple Crush (usually synonymous with dirty, sweaty, sexualized blog house and dance moves you haven't seen since "In Living Colour" bump-in's) is something to literally exalt and behold. Accompanied only by Jared's soft strumming, Isla's soft voice takes center stage, wavering and intoning as if the song were written for her and not the egomaniac "singer". "Love Lockdown" is still one of our favorite songs, lyrics-wise, from 2008, and this new cover breathes a heavy lift into it. We won't hate on Kanye or anything (after all, his record was one of our tops from last year) but we have a feeling this track is going to blow up.
