Emerging: The Hundred In The Hands
Feb 05, 09

After the dissolution of The Boggs, Brooklyn natives Jason Friedman and Eleanore Everdell began their lives together as The Hundred In The Hands, one of the most promising bands we've been privy to hear since we began this website over three years ago. We mean it. What came about from their work together is a 7" single of "Dressed In Dresden" b/w "Undressed In Dresden", two complimentary songs that are more beautiful with each listen, a feat that too few (count on one hand, we assure it, that's it) acts are able to accomplish. The two songs, which total the entire recorded output of the band thus far, are collages of everything that is right about music. The instruments are angular and warbled and Eleanore's vocals--front and center--are at the exact same time haunting and inviting. The duo is still unsigned and largely undiscovered, but we here are bursting with every sort of hope that The Hundred In The Hands won't be either of those things for very much longer.
