Here's some new math for you fans of subtraction. What was once a trio of players from defunct acts (two former members of The Blood Brothers and one from Pretty Girls Make Graves) has now officially become a duo, with news that drummer Jay Clark has left Jaguar Love. So, er, now it's just two former members of The Blood Brothers. In a statement about Clark's leaving the band, Cody Votolato and Johnny Whitney said, "We are going to be touring as a two piece, playing to a drum machine." In discussing the future of the group as both a live act and as a recording vessel, they continued, "We will be playing only 3 songs from the record, ('Highways of Gold', 'Bats over the Pacific', and 'Jaguar Pirates')...the rest of the set will composed of new songs...the vibe of the new material is kind of Daft Punk meets New Order meets Black Flag". The duo will also continue to do a cover of the Minor Threat classic "Small Man, Big Mouth" in their performances. No word yet on when the follow-up to their 2008 release, Take Me To The Sea, will happen.
