Download: Machines Don't Care - "Drop It To The Floor (TADT Baby Pop remix)"

Rule number one of remixing is that when you develop an aural calling card, you must infuse everything you produce/spin/touch with it. With Brooklyn homies The American Dream Team, you can tell they were paying attention that day in class. Every track is a buzzing, blipping, start-stop funk freakout with wound-tight snares, slashing synths, hard-shit house breaks and vocal hums, tilts and screams that should very well be trademarked to them. They've got their roots winding deep through everything from Paradise Garage to 60s Kingston, London warehouse districts and the crosswalks of the South Bronx. We close our eyes every time a new track comes out of their vaults, because we already know by the first measure it's them. For this new dig at Machines Don't Care, the collab project that Herve is overseeing, we get Beastie Boys lines, sirens, Roland stabs, whamped bass that crushes the neck, and stuttery how-do-we-dance-to-this-right-now breaks.
