Photos: Girls & Boys on April 3

And so it was that the heaviest-attended Girls & Boys party thus far (right?) would be helmed by the boys from MSTRKRFT and the masked avengers, The Bloody Beetroots. Both acts showed up way way way late due to, er, circumstances (flights and whatever) and though that happened, you guys have no idea. Kids showed up en masse, security was quite overwhelmed, barricades were up, fire departments arrived, blood was spilled, sweat was the odor of choice and the rage-fest was something unlike anything we'd seen in some time.
A shit-show was bordered on, but performances were key in making that not happen, and while the dudes from MSTRKRFT opted for a reserved performance (about 12 feet back from the stage's end, no lighting on them, giant visual screens illuminating, etc.), The Bloody Beetroots' Tommy Tea and Bob Rifo were 180 degrees in the other direction--jumping into the crowd, engaging the audience from the stage's absolute edge, literally ripping the place up. They should have been top billing in our opinion and, as the tardiness made it so, ended up playing after JFK and Al-P. So it kind of worked out that way.
