Download: We Plants Are Happy Plants - "Apollo"

May 05, 09

A new track from one-man-destroyer Peter Bergmann aka We Plants Are Happy Plants, "Apollo" just sort of meanders out of the speaker system. It's a lightning storm of sounds and effects, hovering around a central bed of synths, snare snaps and unrelenting atmospherics. The front three minutes of the track feel very much like a breakdown in a mix set of trance tracks that's been yanked from it's origins, while the midpoint is broken up by a trail of plucked and reverbed notes. The track travels along its path and comes back to its beginnings to wrap up with swells and swirls and before you know it, it's petering right out, begging for a repeat. It's fascinating.
