News: NASA astronaut brings Echo & The Bunnymen into space
May 17, 09

On June 13, NASA astronaut Colonel Timothy L. Korpa is bringing his love for Echo & The Bunnymen and the band's fourth album, Ocean Rain--a 25 year-old love--into outer space with him as he embarks on a three-month mission to the International Space Station. A mission that will find him snapping photos of the album along the way, as a token of appreciation to Ian McCulloch and the boys. Ocean Rain will also see box set issuing in honor of the 25 year anniversary of its release, a package that will include a live version of the album recorded at the Liverpool Arena and a DVD documentary and booklet. The first 1000 copies ordered will be signed by McCulloch and guitarist Will Sergeant. The set is out May 30 and the guys are also playing a slew of dates this summer, including All Points West.
