Featuring the US debuts of Louis La Roche and Justin Faust, a late-night "live" set from Danger and the rampant playlistism of hosts/twins/residents/kings of slashes Finger On The Pulse, this month's Yikes! party at Studio B was loud, rampant and brilliant. The kids came out in droves to hear the dreamy electro of Germany's Faust and the equally impressive yet subtly more banger-friendly lines of La Roche's set, sweating it up inside the venue (seriously, does that place even have A/C?) and jumping outside or up on the second floor to catch air/smoke cigarettes. La Roche led off with the Alex Metric remix of "Cross The Dancefloor"--we slept on this treatment, go figure--and from there it was heaven. By the time Danger took to the stage around the 3:30 mark, everyone was so amped up, the front-end of his set sort of disappointed, what with it's leaning on building synths and the problems he was having with visuals flickering in and out via a bad signal or whatever. It was still totally worth it though, and he/we stuck it out.
