News: CJ Milli included in volume 2 of It Came From The Blog

Jun 10, 09

We not-so-secretly love it when the females rock harder than the dudes, like in a 90s-northwest-coast-girls-up-front thing but for the now era, the kids coming up today who couldn't tell Kathleen Hanna from Polly Jean Harvey (oh snap!). With this Richmond-area chick CJ Milli--who destroyed it big time a few months back with her remix of Lady GaGa's "Just Dance"--you get the very top of both of those worlds, an educated girl who's not afraid of taking bits and pieces from, literally, all over the place and mashing them up in such a way that makes the original tracks feel like cut up clippings in a papier-mache animal. That animal, in the case of this track "Let The Bodies Hit The Dancefloor" (set to be released on the second volume of the Coco Machete compilation It Came From The Blog), has the head of Van Halen, arms of Drowning Pool, legs of Disturbed, and various other appendages/phalanges of Lil Jon.
