News: Flashmen release new track + tour dates + more on the way

Jun 26, 09

After lighting a fire on the dancefloor with their first two original tracks, "Flashmen Theme" and "Little Wildkat", one of our favorite acts of the year, Flashmen, are back with a haunting, 80s teen horror movie soundtrack new song called "As The Night Rolls On". Penned by Daniel E and featuring the undeniably beautiful vocal help from fellow Chicagoan Sewing Pattern (nee Angie Ma), "As The Night Rolls On" is a chilly, inspired synth, drums and guitars burner with emotional laments and yearning quips that Daniel said were inspired by being "removed from all the hotness that is happening with electronic music in NYC" and came at the end of a bout with writer's block. All of this ultimately led to one of the best tracks we've heard come out of any camp in the last few weeks, and being that it's the first original track from these guys in a bit, stoked-worthy. The guys have their first west coast dates lined up for next month, supporting Kap10Kurt.

Dates:

Jul 16 Sacramento, CA Bravado @ Mix Downtown
Jul 17 TBA
Jul 18 Los Angeles, CA Tilt/Binary @ Echoplex

Bradley and Daniel also have a trio of remixes on the way to everyone's ears and they've told us they're planning to be at BEMF 2.0 this summer, August 8 in Brooklyn.

Tracks upcoming:

Flashmen - "Little Wildkat (Infernal Devices remix)"
Flashmen - "Little Wildkat (Mr Vega remix)"
Flashmen - "Flashmen Theme (Savile remix)"
