Photos: Tribeca Grand Saturdays on June 13

We admit it. We weren't buying into it at all that the trio of club kids who host some of the more rad/adventurous parties in New York City, The Glitter Kids, were going to be DJing at Tribeca Grand this past Saturday night. We mean, to be honest, it's an interesting territory to inhabit when you're a host of a party (bottle service, drink tickets, tons of friends hanging out at/on tables) and you're jumping into another: the DJ.
And while there's much to be said about the plateauing of the talents of disc jockeys as a whole--there are, after all, thousands of these banger-slingers who sound exactly like their lead-ins/followers--we took it with many grains of salt and headed out in the rains to see what the fuss was about. They had, apparently, "just learned how to do this whole thing ten minutes ago" when we arrived, but they pulled through after watching the dudes in The Chainsmokers play a set of sweet 16-ready throwbacks and remixes to deliver 20-minute sets each between the three of them, varying in style dictated mostly by their own independent personalities. It was fun, stressful, exhilarating and, maybe for them, quite a relief to have it be over already.
