Video: Magic Wands - "Warrior" + new remixes

Jun 10, 09

Imminent danger raises blood pressure, releases adrenaline and, in some cases, makes one aroused. Magic Wands, the boy/girl duo we called "emerging" a short time ago for their sexed up rawness, are easily the most danger-filled band we've come to know as of late. But it's understated danger, the sort of walking-in-shadows startle in lieu of the known-well sort. "Warrior", off of their July 6-released EP Magic, Love And Dreams, is 80s bliss covered in sweaty, steady pulses of noise pop crutches and singer Dexy's malaise-filled vocals. The video for the song is all technicolor blotches and saturated, stop-start psychedelics. We guess for a band like Magic Wands, it's easy to be the haunter rather than the haunted.
