Photos: Girls & Boys on July 17

With electrifying late night sets from two California kids, including soon-to-be-legendary Wolfgang Gartner (just dig on dude's track "Push & Rise") and a headlining set from LA Riots full of electro destroyers and tweaked out deep rave anthems, this week's Girls & Boys party was radder than a bunch of parties we've been to in recent memory, complete with a whole set of kids from the west coast who were somewhat professionals at losing their shit and all of our beloved NYC heads staying on level alongside. It was weird for a bit there--in a "West Side Story" Jets vs Sharks way without the star-crossed romance (well, we didn't SEE any star-crossed romance)--but when the beat dropped, everyone just got lost in the mix. Best part of the night though for real was hanging backstage with Nick Catchdubs and talking about what kind of "joints" Nickelodeon and ABC used to be rolling deep with in the 90s ("Are You Afraid Of The Dark?", "Step By Step", "Alex Mack", "Roundhouse" et al.). You know, TGIF and SNICK and whatnot.
