As the de facto headliners for this past Sunday's JellyNYC-helmed Pool Party on the Williamsburg waterfront (the thunderstorms that brewed all day finally gave way to torrents of wetness that sent the hipster set running--yes, running--from the outdoor venue to shelter caused ...Trail Of Dead to cancel their show), Atlanta's Black Lips did nothing if not impress, inspire and incite a thousand-kid riot. It was hot, sweaty, dangerous and, above all, loud. With openers Gruop Fantasma (we skipped) and HEALTH, who we've been dying to see again after being destroyed by a few times, the day was a straight-up success for us. Rain and shine. Especially shine.
