World Premiere: Yazz - "The Only Way Is Up (Goshi Goshi remix)"

Twenty-one years ago, the United Kingdom was undergoing what would become known as the "second summer of love", wherein the music scene of 1988--acid house, raves, ecstasy and psychedelics, et al.--kept rising higher and higher (figuratively and otherwise) towards a blissed out, smiley-faced experience. Goshi Goshi seem to be reaching back into their pockets to reinvigorate hat idea with this smashed up house remix of 1988's "The Only Way Is Up", which upon its release gave Yazz's label, Big Life Records, their first UK number one and set the label up to have an run of top 40 hits which lasted over 10 years.

Goshi Goshi, whose first track "Lock Shot" was massively hyped up by the likes of Kissy Sellout, Jaymo and Norman "Fatboy Slim" Cook, make a ripped up, jittery vocal mix and jump up arrangement, pushing the seven-minute mark without tiring out the listener and, instead, we're all just waiting on comments from the track's original production squad, Coldcut. The release date for the full package of Yazz "The Only Way Is Up 2009" is September 7 and features other remixes by Miami-based house producer Robbie Rivera, Soulmakers, Nathan C and Ben Preston.
