Somewhere along the lines, DJ duos started showing up more an more in one-person formations for live affairs, sort of a figurehead-as-one type of move that makes it easier on single pairs of eyes and those who need to wrangle said duos. This past Friday, two duo acts--Designer Drugs from NYC and LA Riots from, well, LA--appeared in singular forms. Daniel from LA Riots arrived and destroyed sans J.O.B. and Michael from Designer Drugs was there slinging sweaty electro without compatriot Theo (who we've heard rumblings has a more interesting tale to be all told once he's back from other endeavors). This is, of course not a complaint as the hundreds of kids in the club were slayed minute after minute by the two. As were we. It's more of a notation, is all. We hung around, had a few Red Bulls, watched A-Trak teach Daniel the bottle-to-bottle opener trick and, ah, just look at the photos already, will you?
