Continuing--and really finishing--the weekend that really for us defined the best of summer, the relaunch of the VDRK/Free Magic-helmed Discovery party happened over at Santos Party House and featured a stellar line-up courtesy of them dudes in DFA, with headlining DJs Holy Ghost!, a few of the DFA family and of course, the residents themselves. It was sweaty, dark, smoky (honestly, cool it with the machine Santos) and probably the most fun basement party we've been to in months. The disco was in full effect, the DFA squad pulled out all vinyl sets--you have to understand that in this day and age, a DJ closing his/her Macbook is almost never seen anymore--and bodies were quaking all night long as kids streamed in, drank up and danced their nights away. Also, support in attendance from Theophilus London, Treasure Fingers, one of the guys in Team Facelift, Nancy Whang (LCD Soundsystem, The Juan Maclean) and A-Trak didn't hurt either, nor the MTV cameras filming the night. Welcome back Discovery, we just cannot wait until we can do it again.
