Photos: Girls & Boys on September 18

This past Friday, after hitting up that stellar Love Brigade unveiling, we took ourselves out to Webster Hall to catch the DJ sets of Austin, TX-bred funky house producer Wolfgang Gartner and the equally noteworthy newcomer from Richmond, Viking. Oh yeah, and the spacey electro hometown duo Telepathe also played a half-dozen songs and, while we cherish their debut full length disc Dance Mother, the show just didn't do anything at all for us. Both top-billed DJs set ablaze the dancefloors with wonderful mixes of contemporary house, disco, electro and the occasional minimal track, with Viking leaning more towards the last half-decade of blog house and Gartner swinging a bit more towards homages to the Swedish House Mafia. It was hot, sweaty and steamy like usual for Girls & Boys, and we stayed for as long as we could before we were near-collapse.
