Avant-pop chanteuse Dot Allison creates something of a soft spot for us. Ten years ago we had a college radio show called "Living Digital" that covered as many facets of electro music at the time and Allison's album Afterglow was a serious mainstay to select tracks from and pretty much as often as we could, we would play her tracks. It's her whispering vocals and honey-dripping arrangements that got us all swooning on the airwaves back in those days and it still works today. So this morning when our dear friend Remdog--fellow countryman to Dot Allison--sent us his sprawled-out remix of her latest single, "Cry", we were wonderfully surprised by it's resemblance and knowledge of why people like us love(d) Dot Allison and it also exhibited the sort of fully-realized vision that Remdog always seems to put up front in anything in his creative output. Kudos to Remdog for continually reminding us of his genius and Dot's unending swoon-inducement.
