Okay, so maybe we haven't had this much fun in one night in what may be a very very very long time, but we can't honestly think of one bad thing that happened this past Thursday, October 2, when we celebrated the fact that twenty-seven years earlier, THE CULTURE OF ME made our first snarky remark about the world around us.  A simple scream after leaving the womb says a lot, apparently.  Joined by great friends and the lovely girlfriend, we had two parties in our honor, featuring the likes of VDRK, Computer Club, Finger On The Pulse, AC Slater and Chromeo all DJing.  We danced, laughed and danced some more until the wee hours when our body was weary enough to know what's best for it.   Special thanks to Alex English for making the times epic and Sean Wilson, who also shared our birthday extravaganza.

Live: Celebrate THE CULTURE OF ME's birthday tomorrow in NYC!!!!

Y'all, if you're in New York City tomorrow, why not come by our banger of a party at Le Royale.  It's our birthday (and Sean Wilson's 21st), so bring every single person with two legs made for dancing.  We'll be in and out all night (we've got to cover Chromeo's show and some other things), but everyone NEEDS to bring their cameras as you're all the photographers tomorrow night.  Party starts at 9pm and is guaranteed to get wild shortly thereafter.

So technically, that last post (the Common ft. Lily Allen video) was the culture of me [dot] com's one thousandth post in the blogosphere.

It's been about 20 months since I started this little thingy here (in various shapes and forms) but there's been a few constants that have kept me doing it, aside from my own personal psychoses that is.  You know who you all are and thanking you would be moot in our opinion.  There's only room on this blog for one ego.

We love you all, dear readers, RSS checkers and random Google'ers.  Just to give you a better sense of the irony of posting about pop culture, after the jump are our favorite search terms that landed people, of all places, here.  And because I'm listing all of them on my page, the people (crazy?) who've been looking for them will be once again redirected here, to the culture of me [dot] com.

The lovely girlfriend's good friend (and mine as well) Eve came over for a couple of hours of fun in the sun.  In south Brooklyn.  Very south Brooklyn.  Oh oh oh.  And the lovely girlfriend Karen rode the Cyclone after some heavy (and mildly unnecessary) coaxing from that dude jeff.

You know how we do it around here.  Got as much shit together as we could and the lovely and I headed out to Prospect Park for version 2.0 of thecultureofme picnic/barbecue series.  Sort of.  None of us is a grill master or anything, but we got it down pat.  Burnt burgers are still burgers Sarah.  Don't you forget it.  Jessica 1 was in Iowa visiting the fam this weekend, so she was missed for serious.  And aside from the minor "your grill isn't high enough off of the ground" matters, everything came off without a hitch.  Thanks kids.  Awesome x 4.

Laziness is a curse

That's right kids.  Dear ole that dude jeff is fucking lazy and, what's more, exhausted.  With the Pretty Girls Make Graves show, not-so-torrential-but-still-rather-annoying all day rain on Saturday and the AIDS Walk (photos later) yesterday, my body, mind and phalanges are destroyed.  D-e-s-t-r-o-y-e-d.  We'll see you tomorrow.  Unless of course, a hilarious news break occurs.  I'm hoping for rest, though, to be honest.
