We guess if you're Futurecop! the idea of mixing together a handful of your own tracks with some of the most recognizable 90s R&B tracks into one fierce package doesn't seem like that big of a deal because, well, you're Futurecop!, you know? So it went then for the kids over at Club Action! who served as the catalysts to see this thing through, a twenty-plus minute mixtape that features the likes of Janet Jackson, TLC, Jay-Z, LL Cool J and five tracks from the UK boogie duo. Enjoyable, to say the very very least.

DJ Donna Summer aka Jason Forrest, head of the Nightshifters label (ones whom you should've been keeping watch over the last few 365-day cycles), was asked by the Russian company ZNMA Vodka--pronounced "zima", no relation--to make an exclusive mix for Mother Russia. Up for the challenge as always, Forrest's mix is 100% label-based and includes an amalgam of edits, pre-releases and bangers from his crew. Available as a digipack in Russia and in mp3 format for all of us outside of that region is straight fire to the brain, a sort of blipped out anvil drop for lovers of all things bassy, ravey and dark.

Download: Dada Life have a new mixtape and a new single

Stockholm's Dada Life have just revealed their newest monthly mix for November, a compilation featuring heavy-hitters from the likes of Boys Noize, themselves, Designer Drugs, Tiesto, the new single from Kid Sister's newest effort Ultraviolet, "Right Hand hi", and more. The guys also just popped out of the shop this new single, "Let's Get Bleeped Tonight", which is from their debut record, the reckless and fun Just Do The Dada. New York-based newcomers/bi-coastal duo of cousins DKDS aka The Dutchkills Deathsquad (though honestly we think they should just stick with DKDS) have just jumped into the already flooded but not murky yet waters of Halloween 2009 mixtapes with a thirty-minute set they've dubbed "Hurt My Pumpkin". Over the course of a dozen-or-so songs, the boys crash together hurtful bassy cuts and darkly sinister anthems from the likes of Boys Noize, Fever Ray, SMD, Brodinski, Afrojack, Crookers and D.I.M., to name just a handful. It's super fun and foggy, just the way we like our bangers to be.

News: Last Japan drops new tracks + new mixtape

Last time we checked in with this stellar South London twentysomething producer called Last Japan, it was to premiere a track he'd done with similar newcomer Kay Young, which mixed a cocktail of dirty grime standards with housey effects throughout. But now summer's over and months have past and today brings news of the best sort from his camp, in the form of four (!) new remix treatments and a flame-hot twenty-song mixtape that incorporates some of the best electro slayers from this past year or so alongside them. The Soft Toy Emergency remix is possibly one of the best indie electro treatments we've heard in 500 days, the edit of Polina's "Shotguns" will easily find a home amongst the soca front (ahem, Poirier) and this Tonka cut remains clubby, quirky and spellbinding. To just have us speak his praises only does really half of the work, as only a listen or two for yourself with get the ecstatic commendations flooding through.

The kids in Designer Drugs are knee-deep into their tour dates in Europe right now (dates that see them in Switzerland, Germany, France, the UK, Finland, etc.) but that doesn't stop the production wheels from turning at full speed. Take, for instance, the newest mixtape from the boys, dubbed the "Datamix 05". Mixing monster versions of tracks from the likes of Steve Aoki, Jack Beats, All Leather, Udachi & Jubilee and more, "Datamix 05" is just-over-thirty-minutes of bassy jams, funked out samples and death-addled, dark alley synths. It's dangerous at the same time as it is fun, but that's what makes everything about these guys worth talking about.

Download: Mustard Pimp have twelve hours to kill

There comes a point that you reach where you've undergone a transformation from just some joyriding bedroom DJs/production duo, turning instead to visionary enlightened individuals, spreading gospels through music and viciously and voraciously creating the art that isn't a passion any longer--it's an obsession. For the French electro heads in Mustard Pimp, that watershed moment is now; that obsession takes over officially today. Please allow the welcoming to the world of "Hercules", a twelve-hour mixtape (you read that correctly) of tracks that run every gamut of electronically-birthed music, whether from today or yesterday. Call it a Venn diagram of intersecting loveliness, grit, grease, noise, blips, beeps, blood, shouts, caws, screeches, throbs, slashes and endlessly enjoyable bits in between; something of an anomaly where the premeditation involved in the project's creation far exceeds that of anything else you've probably ever come across.

Without pause, we can say--after listening to all twelve hours a few times now, naturally--that we are probably ending our considerations for anything to top this effort in the coming quarter of 2009, and that, if taken nose-to-nose with any hour-long effort from every artist we've covered on THE CULTURE OF ME in this calendar year, we might have to say that it would pale for comparison's sake to any of the hours here. Especially hour four, our favorite of the lot, which finds some of the best under-the-carpet electro anthems from right around 2006-2008 all collected and curated brilliantly.

Please please please do yourself a favor and listen with open mind and ear to each hour of the "Hercules" mixtape, because honestly, without doing that with seriousness and readiness, a severe disservice is coming your way.

We just got this mixtape from those lovely dudes in Barcelona, Buffetlibre called "Pour Les Enfants Du Mond". The compilation, a work that they cooperated with Spanish DJ Buenavista to complete, commemorates and remembers one of Barcelona's key party spots, Mond Club (where Buenavista served as a resident DJ), which met its untimely end in 2005. Ten years after the club first opened, we get this mix, which is meant to sum up for the fans and kids who frequented the venue all of the good/great times that were had. We think everyone can get behind something like that, no?
